Horbury St Peter’s and Clifton CE (VC) School is included once again this year as we have been recognised as one of the highest attaining schools, not only in the Wakefield district, but also in the county according to recently released data from the DfE.

The data is based on information published in the Key Stage 2 Performance Tables which can be accessed at Further detailed information can also be found by accessing a report on the school website entitled ‘Overall Performance Summary’ published by Arbor Education Partners.

We are obviously very proud to be included in the ‘Top of the Class’ feature and trust all associated with the school are equally as delighted to celebrate the children’s achievements, the dedication and hard work of the staff, as well as the support of parents and governors in making this possible.

Sporting Achievements

We are delighted that we have been upgraded to the silver School games award! This demonstrates our dedication and commitment to school sport, physical education, after school clubs and inter school competitions. The children at our school have the opportunity to experience a range of sports from netball and football, to golf and boxercise. We also offer a wide range of after school clubs for those children who enjoy team games as well as for those who enjoy individual sports. In addition to this we have many school teams, who compete in local festivals, followed by district finals and then on to the West Yorkshire School Games. We are very proud of this achievement as a whole school and hope this sporting success continues for many years to come. Thank you to all the children and parents for supporting our passion in sport and school games!
